Frank Gashumba and his brother Kasumba released by Buganda Road Court magistrate on Shs20 million non-cash bail.
Their sureties who include Hon. Joseph Sewungu Gonzaga (MP Kalungu West), Sebagala Kigozi (Businessman), Musoke Emanuel (former LC5 Chairman Kalungu District) were also asked pay Shs20m non cash.
Magistrate Eremye adjourned the hearing to November 20, 2017.
City businessman Frank Gashumba has appeared at Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court where he was charged with several counts including impersonation, forgery, unlawful possession of narcotics and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Prosecution alleges that on September 12, 2017 at Tulip Golden Hotel with intent to defraud Kolgwan M Dirutop and Manu Meerscghman of Holland origin, he falsely represented himself as Col Okello Francis, the director of logistics under the ministry of defence and veteran affairs whereas not.
He tried to obtain money from them pretending to offer contracts of supplying trucks, troop carrier, heavy machines, water tanks, among others.
After his release Gashumbajumped onto a boda boda and fled off after learning of plans to rearrest him.
